    2. Create Routine And Consistency

Creating good habits, positive routines, and consistency helps decrease stress.

If you don’t know what your ideal day looks like, then take 5 minutes to write out what your desired day would look like! Get really specific and don’t leave out any details. Then ask yourself what you need to do today to get closer to that.

Check out my blog post on time management strategies for more tips on creating good habits.

A clinical journal on the importance of creating habits and routines notes that developing consistent habits and routine is good for children, adults, and families in general.¹

    3. Look After Your Health And Fitness

If you’re wanting to feel better, more confident, and empowered, then looking after your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health is really important.

Ask yourself how you can improve your holistic health!

Try drinking more water and moving your body to get some regular exercise in. This doesn’t have to be a strenuous workout regimen. Simply go on a walk or spend 10 minutes a day doing a workout.

Letting go of the things that you can’t control is really important to help decrease anxiety, and reduce overwhelm, and stress.

    5. Build Your Self-Esteem

Building your self-esteem and having a good self-care routine is really vital in feeling your best; body, mind, and soul.

What makes you feel good? I love meditating, filling in my gratitude journal, and exercising.

    6. Practice Yoga And Meditation

Mindfulness meditation and yoga are great ways to start or finish your day. Taking a deep breath is one of my favorite ways to release sadness, emotion, grief, or negative feelings in a healthy way.

    7. Address Burnout

If you’re feeling motherhood burnout, then don’t try to ignore it. If you keep striving to be the perfect mom, you’ll most likely end up burning yourself out. Focus on enjoying the little things in the present moment, and let everything else go.

    8. Go Out With Friends

Meeting up with mom friends is seriously underrated. It is really therapeutic to socialize outside of your day-to-day life. If you’re a single mother, then you can meet your mom friends for coffee at a restaurant that has a play area for kids.

A growing body of research is suggesting that friendships are important to help reduce stress, especially during adversity.²
